- Thematic: A scent that congruently ties in with all sensory elements of a visual program to communicate an idea, message or store. ie: Coconut in the bathing suit department or Holiday scents during the holidays.
- Ambient: Similar to thematic. Ambient scents can communicate thematic ideas. Simply adding scent to enhance a stores environment.
